Passive Positioning of Flying Object With Microwave Signals From LEO Satellites: Concept and Preliminary Simulation Results

نویسندگان

چکیده

Along with the deployment of low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellations for global Internet services, Ku, Ka or V band microwave signals will be available from space anywhere on Earth. Utilizing signals, a new approach to positioning flying objects passively is proposed, and diffraction model characterize impact object intensity received presented. A linear Minimum Mean Squared Error (MMSE) based estimator then employed position passively. Preliminary 2D simulation results are used validate effectiveness proposed method.

Minimum Hardware Navigation Concept for Leo Satellites Using Information Fusion

Improved operational autonomy is required for the operation of any single satellite within a LEO satellite network. One onboard function, which is an interesting candidate to be implemented with an increased level of onboard autonomy is apparently the navigation function, which is in charge of the determination of the instantaneous satellite orbital position and attitude. This paper aims to dem...

RSVP for LEO satellites

The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) is working on extending the traditional TCP/IP model for supporting multimedia and real-time applications on the Internet. Thus, new protocols have been developed such as the Resource Reservation Protocol (RSVP). At the same time, there has been a growing interest in using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites. In the near future, when the Internet with mul...

TIME OPTIMAL SLEW MANEUVER OF MAGNETICALLY ACTUATED LEO SATELLITES

Conventional magnetic attitude control methodologies require several orbital periods to accomplish the required attitude maneuvers due to the existence of an uncontrollable axis, namely the local Earth’s magnetic field vector. Since in some attitude maneuver missions the elapsed time is of critical importance, those time-consuming controllers are not satisfactory and we need a much faster contr...

Instant Active Positioning with One LEO Satellite

Autonomous position determination in the Globalstar satellite communication system is discussed. ( ) The two-way communication between a user terminal on the earth’s surface and a single low earth orbit LEO satellite makes it possible to derive range and range-rate and determine the user terminal position instantly. Expected accuracy is presented, and a simple direct solution is given. INTRODUC...
